Braking Torque

• The braking torque acts opposite to the direction of driving torque but only at the time of 

   applying brakes

 

• The magnitude and direction of this braking torque or thrust is equal and opposite to the 

  direction of the driving thrust

 

• The structural members which take the driving thrust also take the braking torque
