Types of Rims

1.Drop Centre Rim:

 

• The centre portion of the rim is rolled to a smaller diameter to form a well

• The rim allows the removal or mounting of the tyre by sqeezing the beads of the tyre 

  together on one side and dropping them into the well, while the opposite side is pulled over 

  the flange

 

• The rim is designed so that the well allows the beads of the tyre to pass over the edge of 

  

  the opposite side of the rim

• The rim is tapered from the edge of the well to the rim
