Functions of the Front Axle

• To carry the weight of the front part of the vehicle
• To facilitate steering knuckles and suspension springs
• To transmit the weight of the vehicle through the springs to the front wheels

• To take the braking torque of the wheels

  1. Front Axle is most important part of the vehicle which carries the weight of the front part of the automobile as well as facilitates steering and absorbs shocks due to road surface variations.

    The front axles are generally dead axles, which does not transmit power but it is the primary key of the vehicle.
