Material and Shape of Front Axle

• The front axle beam is usually made of drop forged  steel having 0.4% Carbon and 1 to 

  3% Nickel

• It is made of   I - section in the center portion,while the ends are made either circular or 

  elliptical

• It is  down swept at the center portion to keep the chassis height low
